The Sims

The best selling PC game of all time for a reason. But does it run on a netbook? Yes it does!

The image file was mounted in Alcohol 52% and installation was smooth. The first attempt to run the program at 1024 x 768 did not result in success. The Sims only loaded on the left side of the display and the colour scheme was way off. The program locked up shortly after but was able to be terminated in the Task Manager. Attempt number two involved running the game at 800 x 600. The game loaded up and ran smoothly. Occasional slow game play when mousing over a moving Sim but hardly noticeable.

  1. This site is a great idea - it's a shame you seem to have stopped updating it.

I play a heap of games on my Toshiba NB200/205-310 - Arcanum, all the old Bioware Infinity Engine games, the first 3 Fallouts, Quake 3 Arena, Scumm games, Plants vs Zombies, Morrowind (fairly poorly), Deus Ex, The Nameless Mod, Max Payne, System Shock 2, Thief 1 and 2, all the Ultimas, No One Lives Forever, Lego Starwars, not to mention DOSbox... the list goes on and on. Retro/retro-ish gaming was one of my main reasons for buying the thing.

Hope you find the time to revive the site, because there's heaps out there to play.
